★ what we're about
here at logon we are looking to foster a community environment where our members are focused on developing their characters and creating meaningful connections with multiple members of the community. we are set in nantucket, which is a small island located off the coast of massachusetts. there's supposed to be a small town feel here and that means you should be willing to create a connection with other locals that have lived in nantucket for a year or their whole lives. this doesn't mean you have to have a meaningful connection or storyline with everyone because obviously, that's impossible and leaves no room for organic fun! but there should be an ooc willingness to connect and realize where paths may have crossed.

the theme of the community is giving everyone the best of both words! a slice of life meets alternate universe based setting with mini-plots. all characters are human! this means your human characters are experiencing these plots as humans and have no set abilities or supernatural status. for an easy transition into the realism of the world, the non-slice of life aspect of logon is forgotten once people leave the island. locals already know of the island's phenomenon's and have learned to accept and live with them. however, they're used to something happening once a year during tourist season. 2023 however, has other things in store!

as mods we promise that we're extremely laid back and kind. real life comes first for all and so long as you're interested in developing your character and creating interaction with other characters, you're welcome here! we do not expect you to be perfect! if you communicate your needs and limitations with us, we're flexible.
★ how to join & create a character
usernames can be in character or out of character, whatever is easiest for you! our only rule is that you do not use underscores or unnecessary numbers. no full bio is needed but you do need to post a brief character blurb or list of facts (100-300 words) along with all of the crucial informaion we need to know: full name, age and birthday, job, hometown, nantucket neighborhood. review the setting details to inspire a background for your character.

paying attention to / posting in pbads: we have no requirements that forces you to post in pbads or even look at it. however, it is highly suggested you use that journal to plan lines with new members and help them out as needed. being helpful and friendly in pbads helps keep people engaged and joining!
★ activity requirements
we want logon to be a community that inspires you to update rather than forces you. we know that that cannot be the case every single month but to make sure everyone is doing something, we can't go without activity rules.
intros are to be posted within 72 hours to nantucket. if your introduction goes 48 hours without the majority of the comments being replied to, you will be considered doa and removed. your introductory posts can be anything you want so long as it's interactive. social media, playlist, survey, traditional format, et cetera.

updating monthly is what shows us you're still here and you're active. er are not the kind of mods who will be upset because you have a life outside of rp! we do too so we want updating to be stress free. the first way to meet your monthly requirements is to post anything you want twice a month. we highly suggest posting something early in the month and then something later. but we still allow you to post whenever works for your schedules. posting two times a month is not all you can do to meet requirements. see alternatives for other options!

alternatives being very active on the fp can be rewarded with covering one of your updates for the month. this community will have many activities and participating in them weekly can land you a pass! so can commenting most intros, etc. we do not have any set criteria for this yet but if you feel you have gone above and beyond interaction wise you can submit yourself for that pass. more info to come!

★ everything else
logon is free of wire & any other off-site app. we do not feel the need to explain why as many communities that have banned this kind of interaction already have. respect this rule as it aligns with everything we want to achieve here at logon. breaking this rule will result in a removal and ban from the community.

we also ask that you respect us and your fellow members. everyone is here for the same reason and that's to develop the characters they want to write and have fun. there may be writers who make choices you yourself would never make and that's okay! embrace it! remember that first and foremost all you have to do is worry about what your own character is doing. any ooc behavior that amounts to harassment in any way, shape or form will end in your removal from the community.
